US to Withdraw 1,000 Troops from Syria

The report says US officials expect troops to withdraw from remaining positions within two months.

The United States is set to withdraw nearly 1,000 troops from Syria within two months, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. This decision follows an agreement to integrate Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces into the Syrian army, aimed at consolidating state authority after years of conflict. The US military recently confirmed its withdrawal from the al-Tanf base, a key operational hub against ISIS. This troop pullback is not related to increasing tensions with Iran, as the US bolsters its military presence in the region.
