US envoy Witkoff reports productive Ukraine-Russia talks.

United States special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian special envoy Kirill Dmitriev in Florida, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Jared Kushner, and White House adviser Josh Gruenbaum also present. The talks aimed at ending Russia’s war in Ukraine, ahead of a second round of negotiations in Abu Dhabi mediated by the US. President Trump expressed optimism for a potential deal, as Putin agreed not to attack Ukraine’s energy infrastructure for a week. Despite remaining disagreements, including Russian demands for territorial concessions, efforts towards de-escalation and progress towards peace were noted.
