Dark Times Academy, a New Zealand-based community education provider, had a US Embassy grant terminated under the new Trump administration for a course teaching Pacific Islands journalists about disinformation. Despite the contract being ended, the eight-week workshop called “A Bit Sus” will proceed as planned. The evidence-based programme aims to equip participants with skills to identify and counter disinformation in their field, focusing on prebunking and technology’s influence on misinformation.
