Wet, windy weather to sweep away fine conditions across New Zealand

A significant Southern Ocean low is expected to disrupt fine weather during the final week of winter, with MetService predicting plenty of sunshine at the week’s start, except in the northern and eastern North Island. Forecaster Stephen Glassey indicated that a weather system will bring rain and strong winds to the top of the North Island, resulting in high swells along the east coast.
