Ukraine downs 33 out of 70 Russian drones, overnight strike

The Ukrainian Air Force successfully destroyed 33 out of 70 drones launched by Russia, with another 37 drones being “locationally lost” without incident due to electronic jamming. Ukraine’s air defences have significantly improved with international support and advanced systems, enabling them to intercept a majority of Russian drones targeting key infrastructure across the country. Russia has escalated its drone attacks on Ukraine since 2022, with thousands of drones flown and an average interception rate of around 63% for various drone types, with nearly 86% of Shahed-type drones successfully intercepted.
