UK PM Starmer, EU chief discusses enduring peace in Ukraine

British PM Keir Starmer and EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen discussed the need for a just and enduring peace in Ukraine during a telephone call, following tensions over US exclusion from discussions with Russia. Starmer also reaffirmed UK’s support for Ukraine in a separate call with President Zelensky and plans to act as a bridge between the US and Europe during upcoming discussions with Trump, aiming to provide territorial and security guarantees for Ukraine in potential peace negotiations.
