Turkey fines Amazon’s Twitch 2 million lira for data breach | Technology News

The Turkey Personal Data Protection Board (KVKK) fined Twitch, Amazon.com’s gaming platform, 2 million lira ($58,000) for a data breach affecting 35,274 individuals in Turkey after a 125 GB data leak. KVKK found that Twitch failed to implement adequate security measures and did not address the issue promptly, leading to a 1.75 million lira fine for security shortcomings and 250,000 lira for not reporting the breach. Twitch has not yet commented on the matter.
