US President Donald Trump visited the UAE to strengthen ties and enhance cooperation on artificial intelligence, following a trip to Qatar where he discussed a $10 billion investment in a US military facility. During his meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Trump expressed confidence in the growing relationship, highlighted a UAE pledge of $1.4 trillion investment in the US, and emphasized mutual interests in AI development. A preliminary agreement allowing the UAE to import 500,000 advanced AI chips annually from Nvidia was also discussed, despite national security concerns from the US.
