Tren de Aragua leader charged in U.S. federal court

Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York unsealed an indictment against Tren de Aragua leader Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, offering a $5 million reward for his arrest. Guerrero Flores is accused of running a multinational crime syndicate involved in drug trafficking and violence worldwide. Operating from prison, he directed various criminal activities and collected income fees. The U.S. has labeled Tren de Aragua a foreign terrorist organization and increased pressure on Venezuela, leading to concerns about the legality of military strikes in the region.
