Travel warnings have been issued for British nationals regarding unethical practices in Turkey’s medical system following the death of 28-year-old Beth Martin, whose heart was allegedly removed without family consent after she died in a public hospital in Istanbul. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) notes that organs may be taken for testing without permission, amidst concerns over illegal organ harvesting in the country. While Turkish officials deny any wrongdoing, Beth’s family remains troubled by unanswered questions surrounding her death, emphasizing their trauma and the lack of transparency from the hospital.
