A tourist boat sank off Egypt’s Marsa Alam with 31 tourists and 13 staff on board, resulting in casualties due to rough weather conditions in the Red Sea. Five survivors were rescued, including two Belgian tourists, a Swiss national, a Finnish national, and an Egyptian, while eight people remain missing. The vessel, named Sea Story, was a liveaboard diving boat with modern amenities, built in 2022, and was one of many similar yachts catering to divers exploring the Red Sea’s renowned coral reefs and marine life.
