Taiwan’s GDP Per Capita Leapfrogs Japan’s, South Korea Next

The Taiwanese semiconductor industry’s wealth has been boosting the island’s economy, with Taiwan’s National Development Council predicting that Taiwan will surpass Japan in GDP per capita this year, South Korea next year, and catch up with Israel in the future. The NDC estimates a rise in GDP per capita from US$39,105 in 2025 to US$42,787 in 2028, driven by GDP growth.
