Rep. Eric Swalwell, a Democratic candidate for California governor, announced his intention to prohibit the hiring of ICE officers in the state if elected. Speaking with Katie Phang, he stated that using his emergency powers, he would implement a policy that makes ICE agents “unhirable.” Swalwell also proposed revoking driver’s licenses for federal immigration agents who conceal their identities with masks.
