The registrar of the Supreme Court of Canada announced that only judgments prepared in both English and French will be posted on the court’s website going forward. This decision comes after a controversy over access to historical decisions in both official languages, with approximately 6,000 decisions issued between 1877 and 1970 not being translated. Some decisions were in French, some in English, and others in both languages.
