Largest wildfire in Nebraska history burns uncontrollably

Three major wildfires in Nebraska have scorched approximately 600,000 acres and remain 0% contained as of Sunday, resulting in one fatality. Governor Jim Pillen has declared a state of emergency, deploying National Guard troops and helicopters to assist in firefighting efforts. The largest fire, dubbed the Morrill Fire, has burned over 460,000 acres, while the Cottonwood and Road 203 Fires have affected about 100,000 and 40,000 acres respectively. Dry, windy conditions are expected to exacerbate the situation.
