A 21-year-old Texas man, John Michael Garza Jr., has been ordered held pending trial on charges of attempting to support ISIS by providing bomb components and money. Following a sting operation in December, Garza allegedly sent materials and cryptocurrency to an undercover NYPD employee posing as an ISIS fighter, and brought bomb-making materials to a meeting with an undercover FBI agent in Dallas. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison. U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould emphasized the importance of stopping threats posed by individuals with violent ideologies.
