US seizes ship in Caribbean, according to Noem.

The U.S. Coast Guard interdicted an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela in international waters of the Caribbean Sea, with support from the Department of Defense, confirmed by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to stop the illicit movement of sanctioned oil used to fund narco terrorism in the region. This is the second oil tanker seized by the U.S. in the Caribbean, following President Trump’s announcement of a blockade on all sanctioned oil tankers entering or leaving Venezuela. The vessel involved in the recent operation was not on any sanctions list, unlike the previous operation on Dec. 10.
