Steve Smith announces retirement from ODI cricket following Champions Trophy exit

Steve Smith has announced his retirement from one-day international cricket following Australia’s ICC Champions Trophy exit, having won two World Cups and captained the team during the recent tournament. With 170 ODI matches, Smith scored 5,800 runs, including 12 centuries, and took 28 wickets. While focusing on Test cricket and T20 internationals, Smith’s leadership and contributions to Australian cricket have been praised by Cricket Australia’s Todd Greenberg.
