Couple admits to shouting abuse at nurse in park

Fyona Bairstow, 72, and Michael Bairstow, 77, pleaded guilty to racially aggravated assault after a viral video showed them abusing healthcare worker Apple Moorhouse in Manor Heath Park, Halifax. The incident occurred in August when Apple suggested their dog be on a lead, prompting the couple to make racist remarks and physically assault her. Apple, who moved to the UK from the Philippines, has since felt anxious and unsafe. The case has been adjourned until April for a pre-sentence report.
