Three New Zealand men had a fishing trip turn chaotic when a 900-pound dolphin jumped into their small boat off the coast of New Zealand’s North Island, causing damage but resulting in minor injuries. Unable to return the dolphin to the sea due to its size, the men kept it wet and protected until it was safely released back into the ocean by a local Māori tribe, who named it Tohu, meaning “sign” in Māori. Despite the unusual encounter, all involved were unharmed and left with a memorable story to tell.
