Stephen Colbert criticized CBS once again after the network released a statement regarding his unbroadcasted interview with Texas Democrat James Talarico. Colbert expressed surprise at the statement’s release without consulting him and humorously discarded it, stating he is “not even mad.” The controversy stems from CBS’s claim that airing the interview could trigger FCC equal-time rules, which Colbert argues have never been enforced for late-night shows. He accused FCC Chair Brendan Carr of partisan motives and expressed disappointment in CBS’s decision to yield to political pressure.
