SpaceX’s Starlink is providing free internet access to customers in Venezuela following the US capture of President Nicolás Maduro amid military operations. Although Starlink is not yet officially operating in the country, it is applying service credits to active accounts and allowing reactivation for former customers until February 3. The US has indicted Maduro and his wife on serious charges and declared intentions to oversee Venezuela’s transition to a legitimate government. Plans for American companies to access Venezuela’s oil reserves have also been outlined.
