A historic bridge in Saint Louis, Sask., has been transformed into a walking path after its closure in 2014 due to structural concerns. Revitalized by the local community, it now serves as a tourist attraction that celebrates Métis culture and history, featuring educational placards and a statue of an ancient bison discovered during the construction of a new bridge. The revitalization project raised $180,000 through community fundraising efforts, emphasizing cultural heritage’s role in economic growth. This initiative reflects a communal spirit, showcasing the bridge’s historical significance as a major transportation hub for the region.
