Ex-University of Michigan head coach is in police custody, hours after being sacked for inappropriate conduct.
Sherrone Moore, recently fired as the Michigan Wolverines’ football coach for engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, was taken into police custody following an assault investigation. The Pittsfield Township Police reported that the incident was not random, and Moore is currently held at Washtenaw County Jail pending charges. Athletic director Warde Manuel emphasized the university’s zero tolerance for such behavior. Moore, who had a 16-8 record, was suspended earlier this season amid a sign-stealing scandal.
