The US shifted its stance on Ukraine by voting against a UNGA resolution condemning Russia for its invasion, instead proposing a neutral resolution for peace. This departure from past support for Ukraine reflects a growing divide between the US and Europe under President Trump’s administration. The US abstained from voting on the amended resolution that passed in the UNGA but successfully pushed the original draft to the UNSC, where it passed 10-0 with five abstentions.
