Russia reports downing of hundreds of Ukrainian drones after economic forum

Russia’s defense ministry announced that its air defenses shot down 376 Ukrainian drones over 16 regions, including St Petersburg and Crimea, amid escalating attacks. Residents of St Petersburg were advised to stay indoors following a large-scale drone assault coinciding with the St Petersburg International Economic Forum. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated calls for peace talks, while Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed the possibility of meeting without preconditions. The conflict continues with both sides entrenched in their positions.
