Ukrainian President Zelenskyy accuses Russian leadership of inflicting suffering on Ukraine through drone and missile strikes in Kyiv, killing one person and leaving a third of the city without heat. The attack, involving 500 drones and 40 missiles, targeted energy facilities and civilian infrastructure, resulting in casualties and power outages. Zelenskyy, ahead of a meeting with US President Trump, condemns Russia’s actions and vows to seek a stronger position for Ukraine in negotiations, expressing hope for progress but acknowledging the ongoing conflict. He plans to also speak with European leaders and Canadian Prime Minister Carney before his US trip.
