Intel CPU Vulnerability Discovered
Researchers at ETH Zürich have uncovered a new security flaw affecting all modern Intel CPUs, which enables leakage of sensitive data from memory. This vulnerability, known as Branch Privilege Injection (BPI), demonstrates that the Spectre vulnerability continues to pose a significant threat to computer systems even after seven years. The researchers indicate that BPI can be exploited by misusing the CPU’s prediction mechanisms, highlighting the ongoing challenges in securing modern computing architectures.
