One person died, another is in critical condition, and a third is safe after being struck by a REM train in Longueuil, Quebec, around 3:10 a.m. on Saturday. The three young men, who were attempting to cross the tracks, were hit near the Du Quartier station, leading to the death of a 19-year-old and serious injuries to a 22-year-old, while another 19-year-old is recovering. The incident caused service disruptions between Brossard and Panama stations, with a shuttle service implemented. Sûreté du Québec is investigating the circumstances of the accident.
