Cold snap expected as temperatures drop across New Zealand

A cold front is expected to bring some of the year’s lowest temperatures to much of New Zealand, particularly affecting the South Island. MetService indicates that the front will reach Fiordland tomorrow evening and then move up the country the following day. There is a possibility of heavy rain on Thursday as the front progresses along the western South Island.
