A pub worker tragically died after falling onto the tracks at Ickenham Underground Station on March 28, 2025. The passenger, who had consumed alcohol, staggered and fell from the platform, remaining on the tracks for approximately two minutes before being struck by a Metropolitan line train. Investigators found that the passenger’s intoxication level severely impaired their motor functions, and the presence of cables in the designated safety area hindered their ability to seek refuge. Following the incident, Transport for London is implementing measures to enhance safety for intoxicated passengers.
