Around 40 people were temporarily displaced due to a fire at a former seniors home in O’Leary, P.E.I., which broke out in the attic on Tuesday morning. Fortunately, no residents were injured, though the building’s center section sustained extensive damage, requiring major renovations, while the outer wings suffered some smoke damage. The Canadian Red Cross is providing emergency accommodations and support to the displaced residents. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
