Baltimore Orioles rookie Coby Mayo experienced a dramatic first MLB RBI during his 22nd game, scoring Ryan O’Hearn with an RBI single, but he was caught trying to advance to second base, leading to a rundown and confrontation with Chicago White Sox players. Mayo’s attempt to draw an interference call backfired, resulting in a benches-clearing incident, as he pushed Lenyn Sosa after being tagged out. Despite being a highly ranked prospect, Mayo’s rocky start in the majors, hitting only .094, highlights the learning curve he still faces.
