Opera showcased its upcoming AI-powered browser technology called “Browser Operator,” which enables users to assign shopping tasks to Opera for independent pursuit. Through “agentic browsing,” users can prompt the browser to research shopping tasks using AI locally on their PC. While the demo shows promising capabilities in executing tasks like finding products and booking tickets, the actual completion of transactions remains unconfirmed. Opera plans to launch Browser Operator soon as part of its AI feature drop program, with potential concerns around data usage and trustworthiness still to be addressed.
