Renard, who served as sporting director for CF Montréal, was promoted to vice-president and chief sporting officer in June 2022 after implementing a successful development system for the team. Under his leadership, the club achieved significant on-field success, reaching the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League and winning the Canadian Championship Cup.
