Speculations have arisen among supporters of Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement following a surprise meeting between former President Barack Obama and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in London on Monday.
Last week, as the November presidential election approaches, it was confirmed that President Joe Biden and Trump will have a rematch after both politicians surpassed the nomination threshold by winning multiple presidential primaries.
Interest has now shifted towards predicting the outcome of the general election, with various pollsters offering their insights on November’s ballot.
Obama, who served as President from 2009 to 2017, was seen waving at reporters outside Downing Street before entering the prime minister’s residence for an undisclosed private meeting. He left the meeting approximately an hour later.

Although the purpose and details of the meeting remain unclear, a Downing Street spokesperson described it as an “informal courtesy drop in” during Obama’s visit to London, as reported by the Independent.
The spokesperson mentioned, “President Obama’s team reached out, and the prime minister was pleased to meet with him to discuss the work of the Obama Foundation.”
Newsweek has reached out to Obama’s spokesperson via email for comment.
The Barack Obama Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on social mobility, was established by the former president in 2014.
Following Obama’s visit, some MAGA supporters have taken to social media platforms to share their theories on the meeting with Sunak.
Conservative commentator Laura Loomer questioned the private meetings between Obama and world leaders.
Another user suggested that the meeting indicated a potential third term for Obama, implying that Biden is merely a figurehead.
Political commentator Graham Allen echoed the sentiment of Obama’s supposed third term and suggested that the former president is taking control himself.
This visit is not Obama’s first to Downing Street, as he previously met with then-Prime Minister David Cameron in 2016.
The recent meeting with Sunak comes amidst ongoing speculation about former First Lady Michelle Obama potentially running for president, as concerns about Biden’s age and competency have fueled rumors of alternative candidates despite their denials.
However, Michelle Obama’s office has denied any plans for her to run for president.
