Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo wins 6 gold medals at Winter Games

Norway’s Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo made history at the Milan Cortina Games by winning his sixth gold medal, surpassing the previous record of five golds by American speed skater Eric Heiden in 1980. Klaebo’s victory in the 50-kilometer mass start race, along with teammates Martin Loewstroem Nyenget and Emil Iversen, who won silver and bronze, respectively, contributed to Norway’s record 18th gold medal in these Olympics. With this win, Klaebo now holds the record for the most career Winter Olympic gold medals, second only to Michael Phelps. Norway currently leads the total medal count with 40 overall.
