Two soldiers, including a lieutenant colonel, were killed in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province when a fighter on an explosive-laden motorcycle rammed a security convoy vehicle. The Pakistani military also reported the deaths of five armed fighters, including a suicide bomber, during the operation in Bannu district near the Afghanistan border. The army referred to the attackers as “khawarij”, a term for banned groups, and vowed to continue operations against them.
