Police in North Macedonia have arrested a Macedonian national, J.K., suspected of planning to join the Russian army and fight in Ukraine, marking the first case of such charges in the country. The suspect had been in contact with a recruiter claiming to be from the Russian army, offering compensation of 3,000 euros. After flying to Moscow, the suspect returned to North Macedonia and was arrested, facing a minimum 3-year sentence if convicted for participating in a foreign military formation.
