The EFL has appointed Sam Barrott as the referee for the Carabao Cup quarter-final match between Manchester City and Brentford at the Etihad Stadium. Both teams aim for a place in the semi-finals, with City winning their previous rounds against Huddersfield and Swansea, while Brentford defeated Bournemouth, Aston Villa on penalties, and Grimsby Town. Barrott has officiated 18 matches this season, issuing 76 yellow cards and one red card. He will be assisted by Timothy Wood and Nick Greenhalgh, with Farai Hallam as the fourth official, and VAR will not be in use for this match.
