Canadian author Margaret Atwood wrote a satirical short story in response to the Edmonton school board’s plan to remove over 200 books, including her own “The Handmaid’s Tale,” due to a directive aimed at limiting sexually explicit material for students. The Alberta Education Minister paused this directive, stating that classic literary works would remain available while inappropriate content would be excluded.
