Police shoot man with machete; family members found dead

Officials in Piscataway, New Jersey, reported that a man armed with a machete was shot and killed by police after he allegedly charged at them. Upon responding to a 911 call from the man’s father, officers attempted to use tasers, which were ineffective. Following the shooting, police discovered the man’s mother and grandparents dead inside the home. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is investigating the incident, as required by a 2019 law regarding officer-involved fatalities.
