Starting January 25, 2025, transgender women and non-binary individuals assigned male at birth will be banned from competing in the female category in most domestic tennis competitions in Britain, including leagues and tournaments. The Lawn Tennis Association cited physiological male advantages as the reason for this change in policy, aiming to ensure fair competition. While the policy will not apply to international events, the LTA will continue to review and consider feedback from the tennis community and affected groups.
