After a harrowing journey through Mexico, including being kidnapped and held for ransom, they finally secured an asylum appointment through CBP One. However, their hopes were dashed when Trump abruptly shut down the system, leaving them stranded and vulnerable at the border, unable to return home but also unable to stay safely.
