Family and friends of 32-year-old Wen (Walter) Ren Gu, who went missing while snorkelling off Ledge Point Beach near Perth on New Year’s Day, remain hopeful despite the scaling back of search efforts by police and marine rescue teams. Gu became separated from his friends while searching for crayfish around 10am, and authorities were alerted at 3pm. His friend Ching-Hui Chang is urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the police. The local community is shocked, with residents actively participating in search efforts.
