UK and France strike ISIL near Syria’s Palmyra
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The UK’s Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with France, conducted successful strikes against an underground facility in Syria believed to be storing weapons for ISIL. The area targeted, near Palmyra, was confirmed to be devoid of civilian habitation. Meanwhile, Turkiye detained over 100 ISIL suspects in nationwide raids as the group shows signs of heightened regional activity. This comes after the US military’s recent operations against ISIL fighters in Syria and ongoing security challenges in the region following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in 2024.
