Andrew Gwynne has been sacked as a Labour health minister and suspended from the party after offensive WhatsApp messages were revealed, including one where he expressed hope for an elderly voter’s death. The messages, posted in a group of Labour MPs and officials, also included offensive remarks about a Jewish person and a desire for a cyclist to die. The Prime Minister and Labour Party have expressed condemnation and are taking swift action to investigate and uphold high standards of conduct.
