Coroner Identifies Remains of Rotorua Woman Susan Knowles

The coroner has formally identified the remains of 71-year-old Susan Doreen Knowles, a property manager from Ngongotahā, as one of the victims of the Mount Maunganui landslide. She was camping with her longtime friend, Jackie Wheeler, during their annual summer trip when the landslide occurred on January 22, sweeping away tents, caravans, and structures at the Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park.
