Kansas maintained its position as the top team in the AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll after defeating North Carolina, with Gonzaga and Auburn entering the top five following strong performances. St. John’s also joined the rankings, while Alabama and UConn rounded out the top three. Auburn made the biggest leap, Duke climbed to sixth, and St. John’s returned to the rankings under Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino, with Texas and UCLA dropping out.
