The Nintendo Switch is known for repopularizing portable gaming but also for the joystick drift issue affecting millions of gamers. Hall effect sensors and TMR technology offer solutions to joystick drift by using magnetism instead of components rubbing together, providing more accuracy and reliability. TMR sensors, based on the giant magnetoresistance effect discovered in 1988, offer a promising alternative to traditional potentiometer-based joysticks, addressing wear and tear issues and improving longevity in gaming hardware.
